TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that teaching should act as the facilitator for the whole child to grow and learn. In my classroom, I set high expectations for my students with intentions to help them learn the most they can and help them become the best person they can be. The classroom environment is a positive, safe place where students feel they can express themselves freely and contribute to class discussions. I believe one of the best ways for students to learn is a place where students can collaborate with each other to explore topics of interest to them. To best facilitate this, students also use technology in the classroom to help foster their critical thinking skills and problem so they are equipped for real world applications. Ultimately, I believe that teaching should not only just involve a student's learning, but it is also one of the most important jobs of a teacher to create meaningful relationships with their students. Below are goals that help reflect my philosophy as well as pictures from my classroom.
Professional Goals
Provide a safe and inclusive environment for every student in my classroom. I will do this by creating relationships with each of my students so they feel welcome and supported in my class.
Use technology to extend students' learning beyond the brick walls of the classroom and foster curiosity and problem solving skills.
Teach students to become team players to be able to work together respectfully and effectively.
